Monterey Parkinson’s Support Group ~ Meetings
The Monterey Parkinson’s Support Group meets at 3:00 pm on the second Tuesday of every month except December. People with Parkinson’s (PWP) and their care partners are welcome to join us.
Our members travel from all points in Monterey County. Our monthly meetings can vary from 20 – 40 members in attendance.
2023 programs included talks by neurologists, a physical therapist, a urologist, licensed clinical social worker, and MST mobility specialist, as well as fitness programs presented by representatives from Power Over Parkinson’s and Dance for Parkinson’s.
Speakers this year (2024) will include Shirley Kiatta, RN, Certified Geriatric Care Manager; Helen Power, Davis Phinney Foundation Ambassador; Katherine Pietsch, Speech Pathologist and Clinical Instructor, CSUMB; Jerrod E. Sieberg, Driver Safety Manager, DMV.
Past programs have been presented by: Jeanine Yip, PT, Maria Bellumori, MD, CSU Kinesiology; Ramie Allard, Power Over Parkinson’s Monterey Board President; Saliman Brillman, MD, Movement Disorder Specialist; Lauren Spiegel, MD, Movement Disorder Specialist; Martin Skerritt, LCSW, CHOMP. We appreciate their contributions.
